Cameroun – Aircraft on Stamps – Part I

 Hello,  Well I have finally chosen Cameroun for this next series. There are some very nice looking and interesting stamps to show and I hope you enjoy this new series.

To get right into it here is one from a set issued in 1946.  There is a very similar set issued in 1941 by the  Vichy Government in France but they were not placed on sale in Cameroun.

On the stamp shown above you can see the RF in the bottom left corner. This denotes the 1946 issue  The 1941 issue has no RF as shown below.

I am not going to talk about the aircraft, a Sikorsky S-43. I would be here all night.     Great aircraft and a sad story about a Pan Am one if you have time and are interested. It is worth a read.  Would it be nice to have time travel to go back in fly in one?
