Austria – Aircraft on Stamps – Part VIII
Hello again, How is your weekend? Philatelic maybe? Well if not, just enjoy this next stamp from Austria.
Issued in 1999 to commemorate WIPA. What? I bet so many people see that and wonder what
it means. Well strictly translated it
is Wiener Internationale Postwertzeichen-Ausstellung, in other words the
Vienna International Philatelic Exhibition. A major exhibition
and for this stamp it was held in 2000 and happens there every so often, around
every 8 or 9 years I think.
I wish I could go whenever the next exhibition
is on. Wonderful place. Here we have a
stamp which could be saying… Wine invites you to … that is talking my language,
but seriously Wien is also the German for Vienna. Ok, so you knew that, so on to the aircraft. What is it?
You won’t see many around these days.
And the last time I flew on one was on Virgin, Hong Kong to Sydney, many, maybe
8 or 9 or 10 years ago now. Does that give a clue?
Nice stamp I think, because there is so
much happening on it.
Now I am down to one more from
Austria to show tomorrow then I need a new topic / theme.
